ITINERARY
►Breakfast at a local pâtisserie of Café Cassis (Moroccan cappuccino) with Moroccan sweet breads and fresh fruit, then climb aboard a Travel Exploration’s air-conditioned/heated 4x4 for a day filled with great adventure.
►Visit Skoura, the Valley of One Thousand Kasbahs. Then continue towards the perfumed Valley of Roses. En route go by pise to the region of Mount Mgoun and the Valley of Nomads. Visit and break bread with a Nomad family and see how cave dwellers have lived in this mountainous region for centuries, isolated from the outside world peacefully. Sip tea with the Nomads in this region of Bouthgrar before heading towards the magnificent Dades Valley and the region of the Dades Gorge.
►Once you reach Boumalne at first sight you notice the limestone cliffs with uniquely shaped erosions and superb
scenery and the valley’s
pise (windy roads). Driving along you will pass flower
filled
fields
, fertile
fields
, riverbanks and several fortified ksours. At the bottom of
Gorge of
Boulmane
Dadès there are ruined hilltop
Kasbahs and
valley
floor
gardens. Protected by the mountains, Aït Youl is among the largest
Glaoui Kasbahthat is worth a pitstop.
►Lunch will be served at a nearby guesthouse that offers local Moroccan fare and a panoramic view. Relax and sip mint tea while gazing at the impressive valley view. After lunch your driver will take you past the Boulmanehills so you can see how the gorge narrows into a canyon passing directly through AïtOufi to Msemrir. On Saturdays, there is a largevillagesouk in Msemrir.
►Moving on, your driver will continue the road towards the breathtaking
Todra Gorge. The
Todra Gorge is a stunning natural
spectacle of pink- grey gigantic rock walls that change colors with the different times of the day. Explore the gorge by foot and make sure to photograph the beautiful ribbon of palms between the cliffs,
Berber villages and
ancient kasbahs and
ksours.
►On the return to
Ouarzazate explore the local
Berber shops and people selling sequined scarves, head wraps and silver along the windy (pise) roads. This ends your one day Moroco Travel Dades Valley experience.
